Top Speakers at South Sudan Energy Summit: Norway, Ethiopia and Somalia Ministers plus Finance and Private Sector Leaders

Additionally, Canada’s Chargé d’Affaires to the Republic of South Sudan, Marcello DiFranco, is confirmed to moderate a session during this year’s conference, highlighting Canada’s contribution and support towards the development of high-impact projects in South Sudan.

Meanwhile, consolidating the country’s position as the gateway to east African energy, speaker confirmations by Ethiopia’s State Minister for the Energy Sector, H.E. Dr. Eng. Sultan Wali, as well as Somalia’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, H.E. Hon. Abdirashid Mohamed Ahmed, illustrates strong regional support for both South Sudan and its official conference, SSOP.

On the private sector front, Admassu Tadesse, President of the Trade and Development Bank will be speaking on financing as a pillar of growth as the industry shifts to be increasingly private led.

“We are very pleased to confirm the participation of such an esteemed group of regional and international speakers at the fifth edition of this year’s event. The important role that South Sudan will play in regional energy developments cannot be understated, and the country’s impressive energy developments, backed by the Ministry of Petroleum, are poised to usher a new era of growth and stability in the region,” stated ECP International Conference Director, James Chester.
